Mamalicious wishlist

Most of all, I miss wearing dresses.

+MAMALICIOUS has some affordable, stylish dresses, tops, and lingerie for nursing mums. They have really nice jeans too, for that inbetween phase I seem to be in. Too skinny for my maternity jeans; too fat for my pre-pregnancy jeans. New mum problems.

Nursing clothes on Etsy

I usually go to +Etsy for vintage but there is not much in the way of nursing clothes. There is, however, a great deal of beautiful handmade clothes created specifically for breastfeeding moms. I honestly didn't realize how much of my wardrobe wasn't breastfeeding compatible. You need easy access to the boob. Most of the dresses that I own would have to come off completely, and I can't strip every time HAM gets hungry. These sellers have some really creative clothes that are stylish AND functional.

This is THE nursing dress for me. The one. My soul mate in dress form. Come here gorgeous...

+Keungzai  has other nice things too. They are amazing with drapery and flattering the curvy, maternal figure.

Maternity essentials

Now that I am a million months pregnant, I am looking back and making an inventory of good/bad purchases I made. Here are what I consider to be good investment, "buy the day the stick turns blue," maternity essentials:
I mentioned this before in my what to buy a pregnant lady cor Christmas post. It really covers the basics so you will be comfortable and stylish through your pregnancy.

Probably the best investment for your pregnancy. A nightie is comfy and key in your sleep wear wardrobe when you have several bathroom trips a night.

As I said in my maternity jeans post, good jeans are one of the best investment you will make. Don't try to make it through without them; do yourself a favor, go to the shops, and find yourself the perfect pair asap.

Do you really need maternity tights? YES. You won't need them in the first trimester but you will be really glad to have some that actually fit your body later in your pregnancy.

A blazer is the perfect layering piece so you can stay warm but look chic and professional.

This is kind of a no brainer. Do I really need to explain?

Dress $76, Michael Stars
You need a dress that is simple, comfortable, and flattering so that you can accessorize it and make it fierce.

My wrap cardigan has become absolutely key to my pregnant wardrobe. It is so versatile to keep you comfy and warm. PLUS this is a piece that could be part of your regular wardrobe as well your pregnancy and nursing wardrobe.

Maxi dresses are great for layering but they also bring the glamour. If you want to make an impression at a holiday or maybe your baby shower, then work it in a classic floor length dress.

Everyday wireless maternity bra £40+figleaves.com
Ok, don't buy this the minute the stick turns blue, but buy it in your second trimester for sure. Do not try and wear your old bras, unless you really want to punish yourself for some reason. Your chest and cup size will go up steadily through your whole pregnancy, so get something you can grow into.
Sturdy fashionable flats are absolutely essential. You gotta find some great shoes so you don't look frumpy without your heels.

The sales: Keungzai

What have we got here? Simple but edgy and unique maternity clothing from the +Keungzai sale rack. They have great colors and a way of draping pregnant curves that doesn't emphasize the largest one and make you look like a balloon. Magic. Have a look through their sale section and bag a bargain. A lot of what they offer is a real investment, as it can keep you stylish through nursing as well, like the layered dress.

The sales: Seraphine

+Seraphine Maternity was apparently a favorite of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. There are pictures of her wearing a variation of this knot front dress. I can see why. They really have a beautiful, tasteful line. There is a huge selection of sale items; these are some of my favorites. This middle luxe dress: what a bargain! It's a perfect party dress just in time for, cough, New Years!!!

The sales: Micheal Stars maternity

Guess what...Michael Stars does great maternity basics and they're running a sale! It's a tiered sale so it applies to everything. The more you spend, the more you save. Hurry, it ends January 1st!

Let's start with the dress. I love this dress. The shape is really flattering, and this material is just awesome. I don't know about you but I run pretty hot blooded these days so this looks like the perfect layering piece. Plus, It will still look stylish post pregnancy/nursing!

Shine Dress, £76

They also have some really nice basic maternity tops. The first one has a saucy neckline and would be really good for maternity and nursing. Like most of what +Michael Stars, Inc. makes, the other two look like great layering pieces.
Supima, $62
Soho stripe, $68
Scoop neck, $62

French maternity

I stumbled upon this French maternity line, Envie de Fraises. It's so effortless. They've got a lot of basics with stylish twists.

Grey dress, €39.99

The tunic, belt, and legging set looks especially cool and versatile. I've never looked good in a drop waist but I was pretty pleased with my attempt. I didn't exactly have a belt, so I used an old scarf. None of my old belts fit anymore.

Lingerie is what the french do best and this site has some gorgeous maternity sets.

Maternity/nursing nightgown €29.99

Figleaves

I finally came to terms with the fact that I needed to buy a new bra at around 15 weeks and I am so happy I did. It was amazing, being able to breathe. Don't put it off; do yourself a solid and buy a maternity bra at the first moment you feel uncomfortable.
There is a lot of beige out there. You will not want for a skin colored maternity bra. Thats....fine. Everyone needs a basic flesh toned bra but what about the fun? I was afraid I was going to be forced to wear boring granny panty sets for the next year until I found +figleaves.com. They have a huge range of nursing and maternity bras and sets that are sexy.

They have lounge wear too! Sometimes I think that lounge wear is the most important investment you make during your pregnancy. A good nightie is a god send on those nights when you have to get up and pee about a million times. You will wear your comfy yoga pants and tank top more than you wear any other maternity item you purchase.
