Vintage maternity

I love vintage maternity but it seems to be a pretty rare item. There is some great costuming in Masters of Sex and Mad Men season 3 for their pregnant characters. I put together a little collection of stills for some blast from the past style inspiration.

Can you imagine the amount of time and effort these women must have put into their hair styles?! I am pretty satisfied with myself if I can do a good pony tail.

Vintage Maternity Style

Good vintage is hard to find, and good maternity vintage is next to impossible. There are loads of patterns out there for you seamstresses, but the rest of us have to scour brick lane or the internet with limited results. I found the best place to search for vintage maternity, pattern or clothing, was Etsy with a few exceptions.

Green Dress - £60.00 - Casual, comfortable. Not maternity but accommodating material.

Little Black Dress - $160.00 - The classic glamorous wardrobe essential.

Harlequin Dress - $45.00 - Trendy diamond print with a wonderfully flowy design.

Floral Babydoll Top - $24.00 - Oh how darling with its cute peter pan collar and floral pattern.
